the rules

  1. Fill every cell with a number.

Every blank square gets exactly one positive integer.

  2. Same numbers, side by side, form a region.

A region's size must equal its number — a region of 3s has exactly three cells; a region of 2s has exactly two.

  3. Two regions of the same size can't touch.

They must be separated by a cell of a different value — otherwise they'd just be one bigger region.

step 1 of 3

Start small

The smallest board there is. Two blanks — and the numbers already on it tell you what goes in them.

try it

Tap a blank cell to pick a number.

3

The 1 is already a finished region — a region of 1 is a single cell.

every gesture

  • drag

Fill — from a numbered cell, to paint neighbouring blanks with it.

  • drag

Erase — starting on a blank cell, to clear everything you cross.

  • tap

Pick a number — opens the picker on that cell.

  • drag

Draw a wall — along the seam between two cells, corner to corner.

  • toggle

Auto lines — draws the obvious walls for you and flags mistakes. Switch it off for a pure pencil-and-paper solve.

  • Hint — finds a cell you can already fill in. The easy ones it just fills; for a trickier step it walks you through the reasoning.
